Updates: Turtleboy & Karen Read's Anti-SLAPP Argument Denied, Boston Magazine's Exposé, and More...
Grab a coffee and a seat. You're gonna need it.
👉 Boston Magazine published a long-form article (written by Gretchen Voss) that dives deep into the concerning underbelly of the Free Karen Read (FKR) campaign. It’s a MUST READ. The investigative article shines a light on concerning behaviors of Karen Read, her criminal attorney David Yannetti, and derogatory blogger, Turtleboy. The article also points to potential federal overreach that may have indirectly helped the high-society drunk driver walk free. You can find the article HERE.
👉Below is a downloadable file that contains private text conversations between Attorney David Yannetti and Turtleboy. The messages are from Turtleboy’s phone extraction. A few of these messages were referenced in Boston Magazine.
👉One example of the concerning private interactions between Attorney Yannetti and Turtleboy is below. Yannetti praises Turtleboy’s YouTube live show where Turtleboy was degrading the victim’s family, villainizing witnesses, doxxing one of the witnesses’ phone number, and boasting about how if they ‘flip’ their testimony, he [Turtleboy] will ‘save’ them.
Yannetti has received lots of backlash online since the exposé, and people are wondering if the BBO will do anything.
There’s been A LOT of filings and hearings at this point in regard to the multiple cases involving Karen Read and Aidan Kearney. I plan to make a reference article soon to clarify all the active cases for those who are lost. It can feel like multiple tennis matches happening at once, and sometimes intertwining. 😵💫
As for now —
Depositions for the civil cases are currently underway.
Here are several of the mentionable topics in recent weeks:
👉 Karen Read and Aidan Kearney’s ‘Motion to Dismiss’ in the defamation case against them under the Anti-SLAPP argument was DENIED.
👉 Karen Read’s council filed a motion to compel where they quote her own council without citation.
The quote was inserted without citation so that readers would clearly infer that the statement “pin it on the girl” came from Trooper Michael Proctor (or a witness within the circle of people Karen accuses of framing her). The statement was NEVER made by anyone other than Karen’s own Hollywood attorney, Alan Jackson.
Judge Gildea called them out at a hearing for this bizarre (and unethical) attempt to mislead.
The ‘pin it on the girl’ quote continues to be one of the most egregious forms of misinformation repeated online. If it existed, it would be a direct indication of people trying to frame Karen Read.
But the truth is — it was never said by anyone within the actual case.
Clearly, Karen’s team wants to benefit off of the misinformation.
👉 Ironically, after the no citation fiasco, Karen’s council refers to Karen Read’s own words via a media statement (ID Documentary) as ‘alleged’ words.
When Judge Gildea inquires why they are referring to a primary source quote of their client as “alleged”, Attorney Damon Seligson says it’s because he hasn’t watched the documentary that his client was the main participant in. He doesn’t want to agree to what she said in the documented (and easy to reference) quote without watching the documentary.
M’kay.
Other noteworthy updates:
👉 Forensic Room’s recent show “Only Karen” covers the statements, actions, and evidence that led to Read being charged with John O’Keefe’s death.
Here are the links to Forensic Room’s 3- part “Attorney Files”. Although the shows were out prior to Boston Magazine’s recent article, these shows are a great follow-up.
👉Aidan Kearney is indicted for cyber-bullying a woman in New Jersey. Confirmed by his attorney, Mark Bederow.
👉Judge Gildea gives a stern lecture to all parties regarding the responsibility of trust and integrity inside and outside the courtroom. This emergency hearing came after what appeared to be leaked info of Trooper Proctor’s mid-deposition anxiety/panic attack. The information was put out online about 30 minutes after the deposition ended. No attorney admitted to having knowledge of that rapid leak, and the judge reaffirmed that whether it was or wasn’t a direct leak from council, it was still a vital reminder of attorneys responsibility to uphold the rights of all people… even those you may not like.
👉 Karen Read is a no-show to the 2 hearings she argued to be at. One was scheduled at 10am, the other at 3pm (around 40 miles apart). The other parties attended both hearings, but Karen was seen meandering in Seaport (just minutes away from one of the courthouses) in a sundress with 2 of her 10 attorneys. Several of her other attorneys did attend the hearings on her behalf.
