It’s been exactly one year since the shooting of political commentator, Charlie Kirk.
The accused killer, Tyler Robinson, is currently facing an upcoming trial (date not set) on the following charges:
Amidst the unrelenting 12-month online spiral of misinformation, speculations, and bizarre red herring rabbit holes of ‘just asking questions’…
The solid markers of evidence easily get lost (or forgotten) in the fuzzy commentary of content creators.
Below you will find —
A timeline of events, maps, video clips of footage and testimony, and important documents that correspond with the timeline. I’ve added primary sources for you to confirm information for yourself as well.
Note: The state identifies the suspect in the following timeline as Tyler Robinson. I will refer to Tyler simply as “suspect” below.
TIMELINE
Timeline sourced from the PCA + Preliminary testimony + footage.
DATE: September 10th, 2025
WEDNESDAY
(Times are approximate within seconds/minutes)
8:29 AM Suspect is seen entering the garage parking lot, parking his vehicle, and walking towards campus. He is seen walking stairs, heading to the quad area (amphitheater) where TPUSA is set up. Made contact with some representatives of the organization.
9:25 AM Suspect is on garage security camera walking back to vehicle, and driving away.
10:09 AM Suspect returns to campus. On security camera, now walking with a blue backpack on this time. Goes to Chic-Fil-A on campus and eats.
An officer testifies that the suspect’s outfit appears to be a “maroon colored t-shirt with grey or olive colored shorts. And then converse shoes.”
11:00 AM Suspect is seen on security camera walking off campus and into a wooded area.
11:50 AM The suspect is seen on security camera walking across a grassy area north of Campus Drive at approximately 800 West.
The suspect walks through the parking lot and enters a pedestrian tunnel that leads underneath Campus Drive.
11:53 AM Suspect is back on campus in different clothing (black shirt with American flag, long jeans, hat, same back pack, same converse shoes.)
He is walking with a gait. The gait is presumed to be due to the rifle hidden in his pant leg. Before he enters the tunnel, the suspect pauses at the top of the stairs and pulls out what appears to be a cellphone from his right pocket.
Surveillance captured the suspect making his way toward the Losee center.
11:56 AM Walking up the parking structure stairs with a gait.
12:02 PM - Suspect was recorded walking on the north side of the Losee Center building, walking with the same gait as observed earlier. The suspect entered the Losee Center building through a set of doors on the southeast corner of the Losee Center building.
12:15 PM - Suspect was observed walking up the Center building. He was observed walking up the stairs that lead to the common area next to the Losee Center building. The suspect walked to a short concrete wall that separates the common area from the rooftop of the Losee Center Building.
12:17 PM - The suspect climbs over the short wall and appears to crouch down on the north side of the wall on the rooftop.
12:22 PM - Suspect stands up and runs across the rooftop.
The notable limp from previous surveillance was no longer occurring. The suspect ran to the west side of the rooftop and appears to be scooting along the rooftop area as he gets closer to the edge of the rooftop. He then lays down in a position consistent with a prone shooting position near the edge of the rooftop in the direction of the courtyard area. The rooftop of the Losee Center building overlooks the courtyard area where Charlie Kirk was speaking to a crowd.
🚨12:23 PM Charlie Kirk is shot - Surveillance shows that the suspect stood up suddenly from the edge of the rooftop and runs north of the Losee Center building. He heads to the northeast corner of the Losee Center building and approaches the edge of the roof. The suspect places a dark colored item on the rooftop and lowers himself off the building to the lawn area. The suspect runs toward the parking lot to the east of the Losee Center.
12:23 PM - Suspect runs north across the Campus Drive road. He appears to be carrying an item that can’t be identified from the camera footage.
SECURITY CAM FOOTAGE MONTAGE
(Clips are taken from Preliminary Hearing testimony. The markers and google earth map is added + labeled by me to help give you a visual).
Around 11pm - Tyler Robinson’s roommate/lover, Lance Twiggs, read a text from Tyler that said:
“drop what you’re doing, look under my keyboard.”
Lance Twiggs looked, and found a note, which read:
“I had the chance to take out Charlie Kirk and I had to take it.”
[ The charging document attached below includes the full text conversation between Tyler Robinson and his roommate/lover, Lance Twiggs, that occurred the evening of the shooting.⤵️]
Interview with Lance Twiggs presented in the Preliminary Hearing:
DATE: SEPTEMBER 11, 2025
THURSDAY
(The times on this day are not all specified to the minute)
12:30 AM midnight (approximately) An officer who was doing security detail makes contact with Tyler Robinson inside his vehicle on Campus Rd. Something about that interaction causes him to run a partial plate, and two names came up on the registration belonging to Tyler Robinson and Amber Robinson. Only a male had been in the vehicle.
Shortly after the encounter with the officer, the suspects vehicle is seen on Ring camera from a home owner of a residence across the street.
EVENING - Family member contacts a family friend about Robinson’s alleged confession or implication.
“Around 9 PM” - Tyler Robinson turns himself in at the Washington (UT) County Sheriff’s Office. Accompanied with his parents and family friend.
DATE: September 12, 2025
FRIDAY
(Times are approximate)
Early morning hours - FBI agent Davis flew in to interview Tyler Robinson.
4:00 AM - Robinson is arrested and transferred to Utah County Jail.
There is more evidence testified to in the Preliminary Hearing other than the timeline itself. This includes the murder weapon found, engraved casings, and forensic testing.
I may do a Part 2 if I get enough requests for a thorough outline of evidence.
